My initial experiences using Diigo have been conflicting. There are some useful features of the program and some that are not attractive. I like how you have the ability to highlight very easily and add annotations on any site with no flaws. I dislike how the website formatting gets broken switching to Diigo's view, how confusing the website itself is, and how non-streamlined it can be, and I dislike how the sticky notes are hidden on the sidebar by default. When it comes to creating a blog, I like how I can type to my own audience about education-related content. It's also nice to use a good and easy site to do it on like Blogger. There isn't very much I don't like about it, since it's all opinion based. I've learned how to write to an "audience" when typing a blog or letter, especially with information. As a distance learner, I despised the limited connection I had between myself and my peers. I did experience distance learning through three different years. It was a combination of hybrid learning and fully distanced. I liked having asynchronous classes because I could get my work done all in one day and have nothing to do for the rest of the week. Open educational resources are essentially anything that fits under open intellectual rights. It allows for them to be used, edited, and shared with others. They are typically shared online, but can be in person through handouts and more. This website shows many places where teachers can find different OER. Working on PowerPoint, I have learned to create layouts and use the Slide Master on PowerPoint. As well, I learned how to create WordArt and use that as a graphic. Copyright essentially means that someone is an owner of a piece. You cannot copy or re-disperse it without permission or proper crediting, depending on the media format. Fair use is something that was published that can be used, copied, or modified by anyone. These both vary, as there are different types of copyrights and fair uses that only allow certain usages or crediting in order for the access. It is important to understand the usage types of media before using them. My general rule of thumb is to always credit and paraphrase. Two technology implementation issues are academic dishonesty and student privacy. Firstly, academic dishonesty is much easier with technology, as having open notes, Google at your fingertips, and improper monitoring can all make academic dishonesty extremely easy.
